He's 12?!?

Boy #1 turned 12 this week.
The celebration is still going on.
His birth-day was the beginning of the celebration of him.
He woke up to a serenade by his familial choir. He smiled and blew out the kitchen candle. Smiled at the helium balloons and sign on his bed. Smiled as he went downstairs.
Siblings prepared for school and he relished the extra time.
Took a leisurely shower.
Opened "morning presents"--cards from the siblings with favorite candy. Pop Rocks. Now N Later. Jelly Belly Sours.
His favorite gift of the morning? A locker mirror from My Prince and I. :) Yep, he's 12. Gotta check his hair at school.
Bus came and the siblings went to school.
Then we took the BB out for breakfast at Bob's (I do so love alliteration!).
He ordered 2 blueberry crepes, vanilla cappuccino, orange juice and the sweet waitress (picking up on the fact that it was his birthday) brought him a complimentary piece of chocolate silk pie--complete with candle. "We don't sing here, but go ahead and blow it out!" :)
*Worthwhile to note that BB's breakfast at Bob's totaled equally to that of BOTH Mom and Dad's :) But it's his birthday he can order what he wants to!
After breakfast Dad delivered the boy to school (um, late but with prior notice to the school secretary and the silk pie bribe to the principal!).
Granny delivered tie-dye cupcakes to school late in the afternoon for another surprise celebration.
After school there was football practice and then we met up at Kent's for a steak dinner. BB ordered steak and crab. He wasn't as crazy about the crab as he thought he might be, but it was a great dinner anyway.
Pulling into the driveway at 9:30 that night, he said,
"This has been one of the best days of my life you guys, thanks!"

Last night, we went to THE Great Darke County Fair and Grandpa and Nana provided ride bracelets for the children (not necessarily for the birthday but he doesn't need to know that!). He rode "The Zipper" twice, this crazy spinning-spinning-and-twirling-ride-that-makes-me-want-to-barf-just-watching-it, un-phased and ready for more. We came home with three additions to the family--goldfish, thanks. Today, the goldfish are still swimming and Granny and Papa took him out to play golf and have lunch. He played great (first time out since this spring since he was gone all summer!). Tonight they go back to the fair for the Crash-Up Derby, thanks again to Nana and Grandpa. Next week he and his dad are going to go to Ozone to the ropes course & zip line--so his birthday celebration is going on, and on, and on!

Happy birthday Brennan! We love you! We are so glad that we have you in our lives. You make us all better people because we know and love you.
